Traverse City State Bank Snags Lender Awards

TRAVERSE CITY - Traverse City State Bank (TCSB) has been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Michigan District Office with two distinct awards: The Community Lender of the Year Award, for the best overall performance among Michigan community banks who directly participate in the SBA’s underwriting and approval program, and the SBA Top Ten 2011 Lender of the Year Award, which goes to those Michigan lenders with the highest number of new loans originated. TCSB placed seventh in the state by number of loans in fiscal 2011.

Criteria for the first award include total volume, new market activity, and comparison with historical performance. TCSB began participating in the SBA loan guarantee program in 2009.

“These awards are very flattering and greatly appreciated,” said Connie Deneweth, president and CEO of TCSB. “We’ve helped a lot of terrific businesses in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties with various SBA loan programs. The program does work, and it is truly helping local businesses expand, diversify and grow their business.”
