Donna McAvoy has been promoted to Regional President – North of Chemical Bank. She will be instrumental in the management and oversight of business development and philanthropic efforts for Chemical Bank’s network across northern Michigan. She has been with Chemical Bank since 1983.
Honor Bank has announced the following promotions:
Ben Eager has been promoted to chief technology officer. He first joined Honor Bank in 2008 and brings more than nine years of IT experience to the position.
Jessica Gross has been promoted to branch manager of the Lake Ann location. She began as branch supervisor last year and brings more than 11 years of banking and management experience.
Dixie Hoeh is now senior branch manager. Most recently, she was vice president and branch manager of the Honor and Lake Ann locations. She has been with Honor Bank since 2000 and has more than 25 years of experience in banking.
Shannon Mallek has been promoted to portfolio manager. She most recently served as credit administration specialist and brings more than eight years of banking experience to the position.
Cindy Ockert has been promoted to branch manager of the Traverse City Marketplace Circle location, having served as assistant branch manager since 2013. She first joined Honor Bank in 2006 and has more than eight years of banking experience.
Renaye Straley is now senior branch manager. Most recently, she was branch manager of the Traverse City Marketplace Circle and Garfield Avenue locations. She began her career with Honor Bank in 1996 and brings more than 36 years of experience in banking.
TBA Credit Union in Traverse City announces the following promotions at the East Front Street location:
Tonia Rogers is now receptionist, greeting members, answering member questions and scheduling appointments. She has been with the credit union for six years and most recently worked at the South Airport branch in Traverse City.
Andrea Stagg is now member service specialist. She is responsible for opening business and personal accounts, preparing loan documents and evaluating loan requests. She has been with the credit union for more than two years.
Mae Zimmerman has been promoted to member service supervisor, previously serving as a member service representative and later as a receptionist. She supervises frontline staff and oversees cash handling and balancing. She has been with the credit union for almost two years.
Jacob G. Flynn, M.D. has joined the staff of Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital as a specialist in family medicine. Dr. Flynn practices at the Crystal Lake Clinic in Interlochen.
Kimberly A. Hegewald, M.D., a pediatrician, has moved her practice to Kids Creek Children’s Clinic in Traverse City.
Karl Kovacs has been named the new CEO for Northern Lakes Community Mental Health in Traverse City. He follows Greg Paffhouse, who is retiring in early 2015.
Jay Hardin, an attorney with Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge in Traverse City, has been named a “Local Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation, a guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys. Hardin was specifically highlighted for his work in product liability litigation.
Arbitrator and mediator Lee Hornberger of Traverse City was recently honored with the George N. Bashara, Jr. Award by the State Bar of Michigan’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section. The award is given annually to an individual, program, or entity in recognition of exemplary service to the ADR Section and its members.
JD Dakoske has joined RE/MAX Bayshore Properties in Traverse City as a sales associate. A realtor since 1989, he specializes in single-family homes, new construction, and investment and development properties. He joins Team Dakoske at RE/MAX, which includes brother Matt and niece Jenn Dakoske, operating out of the RE/MAX offices at 500 S. Union.
Jane Darling has joined Century 21 Northland as an agent. She brings connections to the real estate industry spanning several decades and serves the Leelanau County community from the firm’s Northport office.
Joan O’Neill has recently returned to Crystal Mountain to join Crystal Mountain Realty as a licensed real estate agent. She represents residential, vacation and recreational properties both at Crystal Mountain and the surrounding area. She was previously part of the marketing team. Most recently, she was the communications manager for The Father Fred Foundation.
Nikki Ankney, a hairstylist at Salon Verve in Traverse City, has just completed courses with Organic Salon Systems to achieve the title Certified Organic Hair Colorist. She has been in the beauty business since 2007.
Jeremy Brown has joined the sales team at Ella’s in Traverse City as an interior designer. He recently relocated to the area from Milwaukee, where he had been working in the design field.
Maggie Hardy recently joined Ascomnorth in Acme as an administrative assistant, assuming roles as receptionist, inside sales, website and social media coordinator and providing assistance in the accounting and purchasing department.
Roni Hazelton has been named vice president of fulfillment at Cherry Republic. She has been with Cherry Republic for more than 15 years. She started in the wholesale and corporate departments, where she created many of the processes and systems still in place. She also previously oversaw warehouse operations.
Kelly Ignace has joined Rare Earth Hardwoods in Traverse City as marketing director. She is responsible for restructuring marketing initiatives and reviving sales channels for company operations in both the United States and Brazil. She brings 13 years of marketing and public relations experience in the waste and environmental industry.
Molly Kerby, a master hairstylist at Salon Verve in Traverse City, has completed courses with Organic Salon Systems to achieve the title Certified Master Organic Hair Colorist. She has been in the beauty business since 2001.
Katie Stroven has been promoted to Deputy City Clerk for Traverse City. She has served the past three years as administrative specialist in the City Clerk’s office and now is responsible for a broad range of operational functions, which touch all facets of City government. She has also earned multiple professional designations, including the Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk Designation.
Eric Vincke, a project scientist with Gosling Czubak in Traverse City, recently received his Industrial Storm Water Management Operator certification from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. Vincke is now authorized to operate any storm water treatment facility that requires industrial storm water permit coverage.
