40 under 40 Starts Now!

Nominations are now being

accepted for the TCBN's

40Under40 class of 2010.

Beginning this month, the TCBN is accepting nominations for the most dynamic movers and shakers under age 40 in our region. We're looking for folks from Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Benzie and Leelanau Counties who are leaders in their respective industries – from food and finance to nonprofit and neuroscience – and are making a substantial impact on our region's economy and communities.

Know a worthy nominee? Here's what you need to do:

Go to tcbusinessnews.com and click 40/40 to fill out a formal nomination form or send an e-mail to news@tcbusinessnews.com (subject head: 40/40 2010).

To be considered, nominations should include the following:

– The nominees name, contact information, and age as of September 2010, if known

– Your name and contact information

– A few words – no more than 100 – explaining why your nominee is worthy of placement on the 2010 40Under40 list. Hint: While being a good parent, spouse and neighbor is certainly commendable, your nominees will be best served if you focus on their exemplary leadership within their industry, the economic impact their work or business has on the region, and the contributions they make in terms of community service and putting this region on the proverbial map – overall, but especially within the last year.

What's next?

In early June, the TCBN will be contacting all top-tier nominees for more detailed explanations of their long-term and most recent contributions and accomplishments. The final list of 40Under40 will be revealed in the September 2010 issue of the Traverse City Business News; honorees will be feted with a private party, gifts and personal awards at an as-yet-to-be-disclosed location in mid-September.
