BANKING & FINANCE: Irwin Union Bank opens on Munson Ave.

TRAVERSE CITY – Irwin Union Bank & Trust Co. has opened an office at 880 Munson Ave. in Traverse City.

Michigan native Joel Rahn is president and has over 12 years of experience in the Traverse City and Grand Rapids markets in a variety of senior financial positions. He was attracted to the bank because of its local community focus.

“Our mission is to deliver services in the way customers would expect from a bank headquarted in that market,” he said. “This means the bank is staffed exclusively with experienced, local people. We then give those people the authority to make key customer decisions. Credit, investment, trust and insurance services are provided to individuals, privately-owned businesses, their owners and managers, as well as the local community.”

With more than $1.1 billion in assets, the bank is a subsidiary of Irwin Financial Corp., founded in 1871, and is headquartered in Columbus, 30 miles southwest of Indianapolis. It operates locally-managed banks in Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Nevada. BIZNEWS
