HEALTH CARE

Anne Cavanagh, M.D., has been named medical director of the Traverse Health Clinic. She replaces Dr. Lynn Swan, who recently stepped down. Dr. Cavanagh is certified in internal medicine and palliative care. She has prior experience as medical director for Thunder Bay Community Health Service, also a community health center. She joined Traverse Health earlier this year and will continue to see patients.

Laurel A. Leithauser, M.D., has joined Associates In Dermatology in Traverse City. Dr. Leithauser is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, who specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery. In addition to her expertise in skin cancer surgery, she provides comprehensive dermatologic care for general dermatology patients.

Erik D. Lindstrom, M.D., has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a specialist in family medicine. He practices at Partners in Family Practice in Traverse City.

Sarah D. Miller, D.P.M., has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a specialist in podiatry. She practices at Great Lakes Foot and Ankle Specialists in Traverse City.

William Potthoff, Jr., M.D., has joined the team at Northern Vision Eye Care in Traverse City as one of three specialized ophthalmologists. Along with general ophthalmology and complete ocular health care, he focuses on complex and refractive cataract surgery, as well as micro-invasive glaucoma surgery and no-scalpel eyelid surgery.

Richard H. Shoskey, M.D., has joined the staff of Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort as a specialist in family medicine. He practices at the Crystal Lake Clinic in Kingsley.

Chanida Siripraparat, M.D., has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a board certified specialist in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. She practices at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Jessi Wallington recently joined Living Light Massage in Traverse City as a massage therapist. She specializes in relaxation, deep tissue, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, pregnancy and sports massage.

Neurosurgeon J. Eric Zimmerman, M.D. , has joined Thomas C. Schermerhorn, M.D., at Munson Neurosurgery in Traverse City, providing state-of-the-art neurosurgery to patients throughout northern Michigan.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Andrew Apsey has been promoted to associate at Plante Moran’s Traverse City office. He specializes in the energy industry for the firm’s tax department.

Scott David has joined the Lighthouse Group in Traverse City as the northern regional vice president, responsible for operations and insurance in northern Michigan. He returns to Traverse City after serving as vice president of sales & marketing for Integrity Insurance in Wisconsin.

Kyle Higdon has been promoted to associate at Plante Moran’s Traverse City office. He specializes in reimbursement consulting and compliance in the firm’s health care department.

Rick Matley has joined the Lighthouse Group in Traverse City as the northwest region manager leading the title team. He is a former local real estate agent and spent the last few years working in the oil and gas industry.

LAW

Mark Dancer of Dingeman & Dancer in Traverse City recently obtained a $1.9 million recovery for a personal injury case involving a motorcycle accident in Grand Traverse County. A local man suffered severe injuries in the crash when a vehicle turned in front of the motorcycle he was driving.

L. Page Graves of Smith & Johnson, Attorneys, in Traverse City was selected by his peers in the legal profession for inclusion in the 22nd edition of The Best Lawyers in America 2016, the oldest peer-reviewed publication in the legal profession.

Agnes Jury has joined Sterling Law in Traverse City as an attorney. Previously, she had a legal practice in the Chicago area for several years. She practices in the areas of family law, immigration, estate planning, appeals, and business law.

Joseph E. Quandt of the Kuhn Rogers law firm in Traverse City has been named to The Best Lawyers in America 2016 in the area of environmental law and litigation. This is Quandt’s sixth consecutive year to be honored. Fewer than four percent of all lawyers in America are recognized for this distinction.

Timothy P. Smith of Smith & Johnson, Attorneys, in Traverse City was selected by his peers in the legal profession for inclusion in the 22nd edition of The Best Lawyers in America. He was also recently named “Lawyer of the Year” for northern Michigan in the area of plaintiffs personal Injury.

REAL ESTATE

The Traverse Area Association of Realtors (TAAR) announces the following news:

Randy Dye of RE/MAX Bayshore Properties in Frankfort has been named Realtor of the Year by TAAR. Dye entered into real estate after 40 years in the restaurant industry. In 2007 he received the Distinguished Professional Service Award. Dye was later named among the top 50 RE/MAX agents for the number of transactions in a single year.

Sharon Lamesfield is retiring after 15 years with the organization. She served as the MLS administrator.

JoAnn Overzet is retiring after 23 years with TAAR. Most recently she served as operations manager.

Dave Wilsey, an agent with Century 21 Northland in Traverse City, was recently selected by TAAR to receive a scholarship for the Fall 2015 Leadership Grand Traverse program.

OTHER

Sarah Kime has joined the team at Goodwill Northern Michigan as the new director of advancement, filling the position recently vacated by Leah Bagdon-McCallum. Most recently, she was division director at March of Dimes in Traverse City. She oversees the organization’s fund development, marketing and advertising, as well as public relations and communications.

Mike Myers has joined the team at Fast Signs in Traverse City as a project manager. He brings more than 10 years of experience in design and marketing, working the last four years of his career at Pickle Print & Marketing in Traverse City.
