Bill Golden, co-president of Golden Shoes in downtown Traverse City, has been re-elected to the Michigan Retailers Services, Inc. (MRS) Board of Directors. He was first named to the board in 2012 and has been re-elected annually. MRS is the wholly owned subsidiary of Michigan Retailers Association that provides business services to the association’s nearly 5,000 members.
Steve Kershner, director of snowsports at Shanty Creek Resorts, has been re-elected to a tenth, two-year term on the Michigan Snowsports Industries Association, which is comprised of representatives of ski areas, ski shops, sales representatives, and associate members in the snowsports industry.
Bruce A. Anderson, a senior financial consultant in Traverse City for Titan Wealth Advisors, has been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. He specializes in retirement planning and wealth management.
David Fox, vice president/loan officer of Alden State Bank’s Elk Rapids office, is retiring after having worked for the bank for nearly 22 years. His entire banking career spanned nearly 43 years in various locations around northern Michigan.
Gary Hicks of State Savings Bank Investment and Trust Services has earned his Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers. He has more than 36 years of investment acumen and experience, including 30-plus years in the Traverse City area.
Jess Kombol has joined Peterson McGregor & Associates in Traverse City as a commercial account manager. She is licensed in property/casualty insurance and brings four years of experience in the industry, specializing in claims.

William A. Kanner, M.D., has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a board-certified specialist in anatomic and clinical pathology, transfusion medicine and dermatopathology. He practices at Grand Traverse Pathology.
Karrin E. Licht, M.D., has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a specialist in internal medicine and pediatric hospital medicine. She practices at iNDIGO Health Partners.
Hillary A. Loomis-King, M.D., has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a specialist in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and sleep disorders. She practices at Pulmonary and Critical Care.
Dr. Steve Niergarth was recently honored with induction into the International College of Dentists in Washington, DC. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only 310 dentists from the United States were accepted into the College this year. Niergarth practices in Traverse City at Deerhaven Dentistry, which he started in 1985.

Carolyn Collins, an associate broker/realtor based in Century 21 Northland’s downtown Traverse City office, was recently elected to the 2016 Traverse Area Association of Realtors (TAAR) Board of Directors. She has been a member of TAAR for 14 years.
Matthew Dakoske, with RE/MAX Bayshore Properties in Traverse City, was recently presented with the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors highly successful agents who have earned more than $3 million in commissions and have completed seven years of service with the company. Less than six percent of the RE/MAX network has achieved this award. Dakoske has been working in the real estate industry for more than 36 years.

Harry Burkholder has been named its new executive director of the Traverse City-based nonprofit Land Information Access Association (LIAA). He has worked for LIAA for the past 11 years, most recently as the organization’s director of community planning. He oversees all of LIAA’s programs, including community planning, development and resource management, website and database development, IT support and LIAA’s UpNorth Media Center.
Jeff Henkel has joined the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City as sales manager. He brings more than 18 years of sales and marketing experience in technology, software and direct marketing. His past experience includes account executive positions with Blackbaud and Ledgeview Partners, and he also owned and operated Valpak/Reach Marketing for ten years. His focus is on expanding the corporate, government, education, medical, and fraternal market segments.
Lisa Monache has joined Traverse City’s Park Place Hotel as director of sales & marketing. With more than 25 years of conference sales experience, she was most recently with the Great Wolf Lodge, after previously working four years with the Park Place as sales manager. She also held management positions at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, Shanty Creek Resorts and the Holiday Inn in Traverse City.
Ed Lassa has been promoted from sergeant to lieutenant within the Corrections Division of the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office. In that role he serves as assistant jail administrator.
Todd Ritter has been promoted from lieutenant to captain within the Corrections Division of the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, responsible for its administration.
