Cathie’s to move into City Centre Plaza

TRAVERSE CITY – Cathie’s Tote and Dine is the second company to announce it will set up shop in the City Centre Plaza, currently under construction at the corner of Cass and State streets.

Cathie’s will be moving only one block from its current downtown Traverse City location, where’s its operated out of for the past eight years.

With two high-volume, quick-service kitchens, there will be a faster turn-around time for in-house, take-out and delivery customers, even during peak times, said part-owner Steve King. Plus, more customers will be able to dine in, as the new diner will have 40 indoor seats and an 80- to 100-seat outdoor dining patio.

” This is something our customers have been begging for, and we have listened,” King said. “Our purpose of expansion is two-fold: First, we want to enhance our current level of speed, service and menu offerings to all of our customers. Second, we want to provide an expanded indoor seating while maintaining our current outdoor dining experience that you have all come to know and love.”

Additional plans call for an enhanced menu, expanded evening delivery, a conference room with food service for hire, and retail offerings. Cathie’s current downtown location will continue under the same ownership, with a new quick-service, cold sandwich concept soon to be announced.

The City Centre Plaza will be a three-story structure with 34,000 square feet of office and restaurant space. The law firm of Smith, Haughey, Rice & Roegge has already announced plans to occupy the first and second floors of the building. BIZNEWS
