Flying With The Pure Michigan Seasons
While the summer season is winding down our TVC regional air service message continues. The autumn season is one of harvest; and our Pure Michigan region will celebrate by way of our regional bounty, including wine. In fact, our TVC region has made an impact on our airlines with not just our award-winning beaches, golf, and dynamic festivals and events, but also with our grapes.
This month, Delta Sky magazine has featured our wine region, touting our grapes and ease of traveling to our wine destination. Delta Sky magazine also touted the region this year in its March issue, saluting the culture and fun of the TVC region from cherries and film to our extraordinary culinary scene. And, if you fly on American Airlines in September, you will see the work of our cooperative efforts at hand. Together with Traverse City Tourism, we are able to grow our TVC message with an advertising campaign that reaches every seat in the American Airlines domestic system this month; targeted magazine campaigns throughout our direct flight markets on the east coast, including New York and Atlanta, have also made an impact on growing our service in and out of the market.
TVC is also growing the game of golf by way of touting its many award-winning golf facilities throughout the region. Our team recently partnered with the Gaylord Golf Mecca on a Texas Fly DFW to TVC campaign and seeing exceptional growth from that market during the hot weather months – in fact, the Texas market has two top ten cities of origin flying into our market – Dallas and Houston. The Cherry Capital Airport team has been hard at work fulfilling its mission of growing air service for the entire northern Michigan region by way of working with each air carrier servicing TVC, regional convention and visitors bureaus, and regional chamber of commerce groups.
The proof seems to be in the pudding. Our June traffic is up 15.9 percent alone, representing the highest growth month ever. While May was up 10.9 percent and July up 9.8 percent, these numbers represent a 7.3 percent growth in air service activity year to date. The northern Michigan region is truly Pure Michigan in every sense of the word from our natural beauty, destination amenities such as golf, dining, wine and recreation. Our team is dedicated to growing that connecting point of Pure Michigan and building awareness nationally. To that end, the Cherry Capital airport team is working on further developing its brand to complement those initiatives. Our region is delightfully made up of water, shoreline, sunshine, and great air service.
The TVC team salutes everyone in the region for making our guests feel welcomed all season long! Total Value and Convenience (TVC) is the cornerstone to our brand statement and remains a strong part of our commitment to our visitors and regional residents. By flying in to – and out of – northern Michigan’s airport, you are sure to experience the Total Value and Convenience of flying out of your hometown airport.
