APPOINTMENTS

Russ Knopp, co-owner of Comfort Keepers of Northern Lower Michigan, has been elected treasurer of the Small Business Association of Michigan. Knopp has been an association member since 2009 and on the board of directors for three years.

Michele Shane, head of school at The Children’s House in Traverse City, has been elected vice president of the Montessori Administrators Association, an international group of Montessori professionals whose mission is to support administrators in leading high quality Montessori schools.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Erika Chamberlain has been promoted to member service supervisor at TBA Credit Union in Traverse City. She supervises frontline staff, oversees cash handling and balancing and assists with opening accounts. She has worked for the credit union for three years.

Holly Hall has joined Oryana Natural Foods Market in Traverse City as finance manager. She brings more than nine years of experience advising businesses and supervising high-functioning teams. She previously served as an associate at Plante Moran in Traverse City

Kathleen Murchie of Prout Financial Design in Traverse City has received her Certified Long Term Care license. She is a licensed producer for the state of Michigan for long-term care insurance and client relations administrator at Prout.

Dennis J. Prout of Prout Financial Design in Traverse City recently earned the Retirement Management Analystdesignation sponsored by the Retirement Income Industry Association.

Tammy Stoerkel recently joined the team at Intentional Wealth Advisors in Traverse City. She is licensed to sell securities as well as life and variable contracts. Additionally she oversees day-to-day account maintenance, client communications and office management.

Honor Bank announces the following promotions:

Pamm Laing has been promoted to first vice president and senior credit officer. She began her career with Honor Bank in 1997 as a commercial loan clerk and has more than 26 years of banking experience.

Troy Noble has been promoted to first vice president and senior lender. He began his career with Honor Bank in 2007 and has more 25 years of banking experience in business development, commercial lending, sales management, and credit and SBS lending.

Norm Plumstead is now the senior vice president and head of retail banking. He began his career with Honor Bank in 2000 as account executive in Chicago. He has more than 19 years of banking experience.

Josh Richards has been named an associate. He joined the firm in 2009 and has more than five years of experience in public accounting providing audit and consulting services to hospitals and health systems across the United States.

Michael Gano has been named an associate in the firm’s Traverse City office. He first joined the firm in 2008 and specializes in financial planning and investment management in the firm’s wealth management group.

Jaime Miller has been named an associate. She first joined the firm in 2006 and specializes in reimbursement consulting and not-for-profit tax departments. Her background includes providing accounting, auditing, tax, and financial reporting services to individuals, hospitals and other clients.

HEALTH CARE

Deborah A. Blashill has been appointed CEO of iNDIGO Health Partners in Traverse City. She joined the company (then Hospitalists of Northern Michigan) in 2010 and has been instrumental in many aspects of the company’s growth and development.

John W. Polley, M.D. has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a specialist in plastic surgery. He practices at JP Center for Plastic Surgery in Traverse City.

Coryn Briggs is the new digital marketing & design specialist for Traverse City Tourism. She previously was the director of marketing at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay for five years. She manages website content, social media outlets and connections to third-party sites, conducts its web-based marketing and newsletter campaigns and assists in design projects.

Andrew Reh was recently promoted to vice president of resort operations at Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire. Reh had been serving as executive chef since 2007.

Lindsey Southwell was recently promoted to director of marketing at Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire. Southwell had been serving as the resort’s marketing manager since 2003.

Melissa L. Baumgartner has joined Smith Haughey in Traverse City as an attorney. Baumgartner hails from New York and practices in family law and estate planning. She also has expertise in child adoption and custody.
