APPOINTMENTS/ACCOLADES

Erik Falconer, investment manager and president of the Falconer Group in Traverse City, has joined the Chemical Bank Traverse City Community Bank Board of Directors.

Cindy Lardie, marketing and education coordinator at TBA Credit Union in Traverse City, was recently named the 2014 Employee of the Year. Candidates are nominated by peers and chosen based on team cooperation, attitude, community involvement and leadership. She will celebrate her 5-year anniversary with the credit union later this year.

Deputy Jason Polzien is the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Division Employee of the Year for 2014. He first joined the office in 2000 and has worked as a community police officer in East Bay and Garfield townships and in the Detective Bureau. He works as a road patrol deputy in Garfield Township, is a senior evidence technician and a field training officer.

Deputy Mary Schwettmann is the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division Employee of the Year for 2014. With the department since 2002, she is recognized for her work with the inmates and the public, as well as the law enforcement agencies that the division deals with daily. She also assists in the training of new corrections officers.

Tonya Wildfong, marketing director of Team Elmer’s in Traverse City, has joined the Chemical Bank Traverse City Community Bank Board of Directors.

SEEDS in Traverse City announces the following board and staff news:

Megan Olds has joined the board of directors. She is the president & principal of Parallel Solutions, a Traverse City-based consulting firm that supports public, private and nonprofit sector clients by providing strategic and business planning, partnership facilitation, project management, fundraising and communication services.

Kate Redman has joined the board of directors. She is a community enterprise attorney with Olson, Bzdok & Howard in Traverse City. She specializes in nonprofit, small business, land use and municipal law and is involved with efforts to grow local investment, investment crowdfunding, and social and community enterprise.

Jenée Rowe has joined the organization of director of ecological restoration. She brings a long history of land management and habitat restoration, most recently as director of conservancy lands at the Leelanau Conservancy. Her work focuses on improving habitat resilience and ecosystem connectivity for SEEDS’ partners and clients and supporting the growth of the SEEDS Youth Conservation Corps.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Norm Campbell is the new president and CEO of State Savings Bank. He brings 40 years of banking experience to the role. For the past 16 years, he was president and CEO of Central State Bank in Beulah.

Sally Peters is now part of the commercial department at Peterson McGregor & Associates in Traverse City. She is licensed in property, casualty, life & health and brings 16 years of experience as a commercial account manager.

Cameron H. Rondeau has joined Kindlinger & Company in Traverse City as a staff accountant. He works in the small business department, assisting with payroll, accounting, financial statement preparation and income tax returns. His background includes business valuations and turnaround services with regards to bankruptcy and has additional experience in payroll, income tax and audit.

Scott Ripmaster has been named personal trust officer for Chemical Bank Wealth Management in Traverse City. He is responsible for managing agency, trust and IRA accounts throughout the community. He brings more than 15 years of experience in trusts and investment management, including positions with Fifth Third Bank and Northwestern Bank.

Meg Rosenberg has joined Prout Financial Design in Traverse City and handles client relations. She is the primary receptionist and also the primary scheduler for appointments. She directs calls, assists with inquiries and provides administrative support to the entire staff and clients.

Heather Smith has joined Peterson McGregor & Associates in Traverse City as a commercial marketing specialist. She brings 22 years of experience working with clients in the local mortgage industry and recently earned her property casualty licensing.

Jeannie Thaxton has joined Prout Financial Design in Traverse City as co-director of fee-based accounts. She assists Dennis Prout, certified financial planner, with fee-based account options available to clients through TD Ameritrade. She also helps with account deposits, withdrawals, account information, beneficiary changes and online account access.

Kyle J. Waters has joined Kindlinger & Company in Traverse City as a staff accountant. He works in the small business department, assisting with payroll, accounting, financial statement preparation and income tax returns. He previously worked for an accounting firm in the Upper Peninsula.

Al Zelinski has joined Honor Bank as a commercial lender. He manages commercial loan origination, business development and community outreach. He brings 35 years of banking experience across several sectors to his new position, including commercial lending, business development and management.

HEALTH CARE

Mark L. Cannon, M.D., Ph.D. has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a board-certified specialist in infectious disease. Dr. Cannon practices at Infectious Disease Consultants in Traverse City.

Digestive Health Associates of Northern Michigan in Traverse City announces the following staff news:

Montgomery Hegewald, M.D. has been inducted as a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. The honor recognizes superior professional achievement in practice and/or research in the field of gastroenterology. Dr. Hegewald has been with Digestive Health Associates for 15 years.

Kelly Monroe is celebrating her 10-year anniversary as a procedure scheduler. She is responsible for telephone screening and procedure scheduling for patients.

Sharon Smith is celebrating her 15-year anniversary the medical office. She is responsible for many administrative duties and has also played a key role in the transition into the world of electronic medical records.

Chuck Gollay, a realtor with EXIT Realty Paramount in Traverse City, has achieved the Sellers Representative Specialist designation.

Matt Hodges, a realtor with of EXIT Realty Paramount in Traverse City, has achieved the Sellers Representative Specialist designation.

Kyle Miller has joined Century 21 Northland in Traverse City as an agent. He brings 10 years of experience in construction, real estate and property management, in addition to his background in sports broadcasting.

Toni Morrison of Real Estate One in Elk Rapids has received the Seller Representative Specialist designation. She was also recently recognized for her exceptional client satisfaction record and awarded Platinum Status by Quality Service Certification. Survey results reflect 100 percent client satisfaction with the overall service she provided in 2014.

Kelly Rayment has joined Century 21 Northland in Traverse City as an agent. She brings industry experience as both an owner of vacation rentals in the area and a lifelong investor in residential and commercial real estate.

Maura A. Sanders is the new team leader & CEO of Keller Williams – Greater Grand Traverse. She focuses on growing the local office market center and individual agents’ businesses via coaching, consulting and training. As CEO, she sets the standards, provides the vision, maintains the culture and inspires achievement.

OTHER

Technical Sergeant Phil Allen is the new Air Force recruiter for Grand Traverse County and the surrounding areas. Originally from Washington, D.C., Sgt. Allen joined the Air Force directly out of high school and has been in the Air Force for 12 years.

Rachel Jarosz has been promoted to senior meeting and event manager at Events North, a full service meeting and event management agency in Traverse City. She manages corporate client meetings and events throughout Michigan.

Nicole McGinty has been promoted to head of the design division at Sara Busby Design & Cabinetry in Traverse City. She has worked in the industry for fifteen years, with a background in interior design, as well as experience specifying plumbing, lighting and appliances.

Jeff Mertz, senior network engineer at Safety Net in Traverse City, has earned the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) credential. A CEH professional understands how to look for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in systems and uses the same tools as a malicious hacker, but in a lawful and legitimate manner.

Reno Olivero have been promoted to the position of senior network administrator and client team lead at Safety Net in Traverse City. He leads specialized support teams who have in-depth knowledge of clients’ IT environments and is a liaison between account managers, support and deployment teams, and key client contacts.

Gail Parsons is the new director of the Traverse Area District Library (TADL). She had served as the district library’s interim director since May 2014. She first joined TADL in 2008 as the business manager and was then promoted to assistant director for human resources and finance.

Joanie Stanley has rejoined Sara Busby Design & Cabinetry in Traverse City as showroom manager. She first worked for the business 18 years ago and brings more than 25 years of industry experience.
