TC State Bank starts ‘a new tradition’

TRAVERSE CITY – Locally-owned Traverse City State Bank opened on July 18 on the first floor of the new office building at 310 W. Front Street.

The bank is operated by president and CEO Peter A. Correia, who has 28 years of experience in the banking business and has been an area resident for the last 25 years.

The bank’s philosophy lies in community banking where customers are encouraged to talk to the bankers and build relationships.

“Our bankers will make customers feel comfortable because we listen, we offer personalized service, and we have a thorough understanding of our products and services,” Correia said. “We describe this mission as ‘a new tradition’ because excellent service is an age-old tradition customers still value today.”

Correia said the bank’s 14 employees are well known in the local community and in the northern Michigan banking environment.

“In fact, our employees have an average of 19 years’ experience in the banking business,” he said.

Correia said the bank will offer automated phone banking, allowing customers to access checking, savings and loan accounts by telephone 24 hours a day.

Later this year, it will start providing Internet banking services, so customers can check balances, transfer funds from one account to another, and pay bills without leaving their computer.

In addition, the bank’s website www.tcstatebank.com will offer information about products and services, loan applications and stock quotes, along with local news, community event information and other links to Traverse City resources.
